My Holo Love part 2

 okaaay...so... the whole story arc about the mom being murdered and the two kids knowing each other...everything I thought this series would play out and stretch till episode 16 actually all came to a tumultuous head in the same episode... episode 7. My gosh I was quite surprised and incredibly pleased. 

The link between the two main characters was established and made known. And, the obvious murderer of his mom's murderer was also revealed. I was so so pleased and yet here I am on episode 11 feeling quite bored with the whole thing. I started watching Twenty one and Twenty Five and I've also started Business Proposal. So, what happened to make me lose interest. Let's break it down:

1. The main guy went rogue and tried to flee the country - a seriously dumb move for a smart guy who understands how facial recognition software works. 

2. Lady love got kidnapped and instead of calling for help she haplessly announces in front of the CCTV camera in the library that she knows the murderer and it is... well, you know who it is. And guess who is watching her make the call. You guessed it! The murderer. 

Basically this is where I am at and honestly if this girl is so ignorant of people watching her when she has been wearing the holo glasses and watching others herself, then I don't know how I can continue to watch this one and still be an intelligent viewer. 

Also, this male lead is annoying me once again. It's bringing back that angry feeling I had when I watched to all the boys I've loved before kdrama version. Let's hope the side characters bring this drama to life again. Here's hoping, anyway.

You are NOT my spring

This Netflix K-drama turned out to be a major disappointment but I don't necessarily feel resentful for watching it. The heartfelt scenes in Gangneung were definitely highlights for me, reminiscent of the small town charm of Hometown Cha Cha Cha and When the Camelia Blooms. Additionally, I got to see one of my favourite actresses, Seo Hyun-jin and I was introduced to another bright light in comedy, Nam Gyu-ri.  You are my spring had a lot of promise but I should have known by the strange opening scene that the plot and narrative would be jarring and disorienting - not in a fun, whodunnit kind of way. More of a why are they doing this with the story kind of way.  The murder plot twist and instantly killing off a main lead is a game changer move and I was intrigued to see what would happen next. The story of the church intrigued me and Dr Ju Young Do's heart transplant equally intrigued me as did the resilient storyline of a mother fleeing with her kids in the night. All excelle...

Black Knight

 Firstly I love Shin Sae-Kyung. I have been a fan of hers since she starred in The Girl who Sees Scents (2014). She has a knack for playing the cute, loveable down-on-her-luck lead girl who you can't help but want to succeed. Her characters are feisty, go-getters. So, what happens to her throughout the 20 episode arc of Black Knight is truly disappointing. By the last episode she gets the love that was destined for her, but it becomes a sad love, mocked again by the cruel twist of fate of what should have been.  When we first meet Jung Hae-ra (Shin Sae-Kyung), she is a travel agent with a group of tourists at the airport. She takes her job seriously and loves helping her clients. She has plans for her life and is itching to immigrate. No request is too small and she is loved by her team mates.
